Medications

  • Triamcinolone acetonide is a corticosteroid. This type of medication is used to provide relief for inflamed areas of the body. It may be used to treat arthritic conditions and to decrease swelling, redness, itching and allergic conditions. There may be other conditions for which your veterinarian may prescribe this medication.

  • Trifluridine is an antiviral medication used topically to treat viral infections of the eye, such as herpesvirus eye infections in cats.

  • Trimeprazine-Prednisolone is used to treat itching in pets, especially if due to an allergy. The combination may also be used to suppress a cough.

  • Tropicamide is used to dilate the pupil. This medication may be used to reduce pain after cataract surgery or eye injury. Tropicamide may also be used to dilate the eye for diagnostic purposes.

  • Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic similar to erythromycin. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, spirochetes, Chlamydophila and Mycoplasma organisms. Tylosin is usually used to treat certain types of diarrhea in dogs and cats. It may also be used to treat bronchitis, tracheobronchitis, laryngitis, tonsillitis, pneumonia, rhinitis, sinusitis, cellulitis, ear infections, inflammation of the urinary bladder, inflammation of the uterus, inflammation of the endometrium, and inflammation of the skin.

  • Ursodiol is a naturally occurring bile acid that is used for treating liver disease in dogs and cats and for the management of cholesterol-containing gallstones.
