Medications

  • Ondansetron may be used to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting that may occur after therapy with anti-cancer medications, radiation or surgery.

  • Orbifloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. This medication has been prescribed for your pet to treat a bacterial infection.

  • Osteoarthritis (OA) is a progressive, degenerative disease of the joints. Although dramatically underrecognized, it is actually one of the most common chronic diseases of cats. One study at a veterinary teaching hospital suggested that more than 90% of cats over 10 years of age have radiographic evidence of OA.

  • Oxazepam is used as an appetite stimulant and to relieve anxiety. Oxazepam is a benzodiazepine. This class of medicines is used to slow down the nervous system.

  • Pancrelipase has been prescribed by your veterinarian to help your pet digest fat, protein and sugars in its diet. If pets do not properly digest their food, they can get diarrhea. This medication aids in digestion and therefore, stops the diarrhea.

  • Paroxetine is used to treat a variety of behavioral disorders in dogs and cats. It may be used to correct aggressive behavior, thunderstorm phobias and excessive licking and hair pulling. Paroxetine is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressant.

  • Penicillin antibiotics are effective against a range of infections caused by gram positive and gram negative bacteria. This medication has been prescribed for your pet to treat a bacterial infection.

  • Phenobarbital is used to help control seizures in dogs and cats. It may be used alone or with other medication.

  • Phenoxybenzamine is use to reduce internal urethral sphincter tone. It will allow your pet to pass urine more easily. Phenoxybenzamine is classified as an alpha-adrenergic blocking agent. Phenoxybenzamine may be used for other conditions as determined by your veterinarian.

  • Phenylbutazone is a synthetic non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication used for lowering fever, pain management and to reduce inflammation. It may be prescribed to your pet to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatism and/or inflammation.
