  • Omeprazole is used to treat certain conditions in which there is too much acid in the stomach. This medication may be prescribed for treating gastroduodenal ulcers and to prevent gastric erosions caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

  • Ondansetron may be used to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting that may occur after therapy with anti-cancer medications, radiation or surgery.

  • Oral surgery can be done to remove growths, repair oral defects, fix jaw fractures and in many cases remove teeth to relieve pain.

  • Squamous cell carcinomas are malignant cancers originating from the lining cells of the mouth. They are locally invasive and often recurrent.

  • Oral fibrosarcomas are rapidly growing, malignant tumors originating from the fibrous connective tissue of the mouth and may be cured by surgical removal. Recurrence in the mouth and spread to other parts of the body (metastasis) are common.

  • Like us, cats can develop oral masses. Some will grow slowly and won’t spread to other locations (benign), while others will spread to different areas of the body causing great harm (malignant).
